Chuck Deer

Chuck began his work in Company Management  when he completed a work placement at Opera Holland Park in 2015, shadowing the Company Manager for the season.

In Summer 2018, Chuck completed his 4th year at Opera Holland Park and his second year as Assistant Company Manager for the company. 

​

Soon after finishing his contract at Greenwich Theatre over Christmas 2018/19, Chuck was invited to Company Manage the Korean Tour of Flashdance, which toured around South Korea from January to the end of March 2019. This was his first position with Selladoor and soon after returning to the UK, he began as Company Manager on Selladoor's UK and Ireland tour of Little Miss Sunshine.

After back to back contracts with Selladoor Worldwide, Chuck interviewed for the position of Assistant Company Manager at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, which he succeeded in . The day after finishing Little Miss Sunshine at the Liverpool Playhouse, he moved back to London, where he worked in a full time position at one of the most famous opera houses in the world.

​

Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, his employment at the Royal Opera House came to a premature end and he was made redundant in October 2020.

​

Very soon after our theatres began to reopen their doors, Chuck interviewed for the position of Assistant Company Manager at Opera North. Within a week, he was offered the role and he now works within a team of dedicated and creative people, who produce opera and music for everyone.
